1425 Stockholders’ general meeting

今日、私の会社は株主総会を開いた。
私は株主だが、出席したことはない。
オーナー企業なので、どんなに業績が悪くても配当はしっかりでる。
早く売ってしまいたいが、塩漬け状態である。

日曜日に娘に新しい青い傘を買った。
彼女はそれをすごく気に入っていて、雨が降る日を待ち望んでいた。
天気予報によると明日は雨が降るらしい。
彼女は新しい傘を持って学校に行くことを楽しみにしている。

I bought a (new) blue umbrella for my daughter last Sunday.

She loves the new one very much, so she has been waiting for a rainy day.

The weather forecast says it will rain tomorrow.

She is looking forward to going to school with her new umbrella.

1459 sleeping on the stomach

最近、寝つきが悪い。
私は子供のころから仰向けに寝ることができない。
しかし、うつぶせ寝は寝る姿勢を作るのが難しい。
毎晩、寝る姿勢を作るのに時間がかかっている。
それで、うつぶせ寝用の枕を探している。

I have trouble falling asleep lately.

I can't sleep on my back since childhood.

On the other hand, it is difficult for me to make a sleeping posture when lying face down.

It takes time to figure out my comfortable sleeping position every night,

so I'm trying to find a pillow to sleep on my stomach.

1469 Sodium percarbonate

 先週から洗濯をする前に洗濯物を過炭酸ナトリウム水に漬け置きすることを始めた。
その結果、乾燥後のタオルの嫌なにおいが気にならなくなった。
簡単なのに効果的なので、しばらく続けようと思っている。

I started last week to soak my laundry in sodium percarbonate solution before washing.

As a result, the smell became much less than before.

It is simple but effective, so I'll keep doing it for a while.

今日の午前中、私の家族は娘の新しいサンダルを買うためにショッピングモールへ行った。
娘は10歳で、ここ1年で急激に大きくなった。
去年のサンダルと新しく買ったサンダルを比べて大きさの違いにびっくりした。

I went to a shopping mall this morning with may family to buy new sandals for my daughter.

She is ten years old and is growing taller so fast this past year.

I was surprised to see that the new sandals are much bigger than the ones from last year.

1499 eye clinic

今日の午後、娘を眼科に連れて行った。
学校の健康診断で視力の低下を指摘されたからだ。
視力が低下したのは、休校期間中に一日中ゲームをしたりYoutubeの動画を観すぎたせいだと考えている。

I took my daughter to an eye clinic this afternoon because it was pointed out that her vision was declining at school medical checkups.

I suppose that her vision has deteriorated because she played games and watched Youtube videos too much all day during the school closure.

1513 the heavy rain warning

昨夜は激しく雨が降っていたため、娘は今日は学校が休みになると期待していた。
しかしながら、6時39分に大雨警報は解除され、学校は休校にならなかった。
娘はこれ以上夏休みが減らずにすんでよかった、と言っていた。

It was raining so heavily last night that my daughter expected her school to be closed the next day.

However, the heavy rain warning was lifted at 6:39 am, and the classes were held.

My daughter expressed her happiness that summer holidays would never be shorter.
